Required transfusions due to malnutrition and roundworm induced anemia.

Merlin

Merlin came from the Humane Society.  He had a deep laceration 4" deep in his neck from being chained to a fence. Two months of opening and cleaning the wound healed his neck.  He remained gentle, trusting and loving and was placed in a very special loving home.

Phoenix

Phoenix was 1 yr. old when DRL picked him up from Animal Control.  3 months earlier he had been hit by a car.  He had had surgery but the pin slipped.  He lay in the yard for three months with no medical care.  He weighed 42 lbs.  The leg was atrophied and he had lost his will to live, having to be force fed.  THe pin was removed but the leg could not be saved and had to be amputated.  It was another month before he would eat on his own.  He was placed with a loving family where he could run and play and be happy again.
